Nature reserve of 210 hectares. The low-lying parts have been set up as meadow bird areas and the higher parts as forest.
The Tjamme is one of the first nature development projects in the Netherlands. You will now find marsh, grassland, open water and forest. In winter, hundreds of geese and ducks visit the area to rest and eat. In the autumn you can observe groups of Skestork. The Tjamme itself is not accessible, but you can walk around the area and there is also a bird watching screen from behind which you can observe the birds on the lake. Birds that you can see here include Klyde, Sølvhejre, Gravand, Storspove, Stor Kobbersneppe, Engsnarre (not every year), Plettet Rørvagtel, Sivsanger, Græshoppesanger, Blåhals, Vestlig Sortstrubet Bynkefugl and Gulspurv.
