The area of Embouchure de la Moulouya is a site of biological and ecological interest and constitutes a refuge for dozens of species of migratory birds.
Mouth of the Moulouya river (one of the greater rivers of Morocco) which flows into the Mediterranean in addition to the backwaters and ponds. A fairly calm zone along the year but in summer it's under great pressure during the summer period from June to May. Among the birds you can see here are Fiskeørn, Skeand, Stor Flamingo, Marmorand, Bengalsk Terne, Dværgterne, Audouinsmåge, Rørhøg and Klyde.
The area is accessible either from the coastal town of Saidia and its magnificent beach or from the town of Berkane via the village of Madagh. You can also take the northern ring road which connects the area to the town coast of Ras el Ma going in the west direction.
