The small lake Sidi Boughaba is located southwest of Kenitra. It is also a local recreation area and therefore has a lot of visitors, especially on weekends.
You can find some great species at the Sidi Boughaba lake like the Kamblishøne, Sultanhøne, Hvidhovedet Skarveand, Hvidøjet And and rarely the Kap-ugle. In winter there can be well over 100 Hvidhovedet Skarveand on the lake.
From Kenitra you drive on the P4266 southwest out of the city. As soon as the road comes to the lake you can turn sharply left to the lake. You can park either at the northwest end or on the eastern side of the lake.
The Kap-ugle can rarely be seen late at night at the northern end of the lake. The Kap-ugle probably does not breed in this area. It is assumed that these are induviduals who can no longer find any territory in Merja Zerga, located in the north.
