Description
This reedbed, situated between Mosta and Naxxar, is a lesser known, yet rewarding birdwatching place, if you know when to go. There are a few birds present breeding such as Rørhøne, Cettisanger, Sorthovedet Sanger, Cistussanger and Spansk Spurv.
On migration you may find multiple species like Fiskehejre, Nathejre, Rørhøg, Turteldue and various passerines. If you're lucky maybe Lille Rørvagtel, Rødrygget Svale, Dobbeltbekkasin and Pungmejse.
In winter the pools are at their biggest and a variety of species can also be found such as Rødhals, Bjergvipstjert, Engpiber, Bogfinke and Jernspurv. For the full list of birds see the bird list below.

Access
Take the road to leave Mosta down the hill and when the road makes a bend turn left. Keep driving down the hill until you see a small country road. Park your car on the opposite side of the road and walk down the trail to birdwatch. I suggest exploring the area by foot or with bicycle as the road is narrow and will be hard to drive through with car.
