Description
Spring and autumn are best for this oasis. Passerines include Middelhavs-stenpikker, Rødhovedet Tornskade, Hvidøret Bulbul, Toplærke, Sorthovedet Sanger, Østlig Mestersanger and Brillesanger. Wetland birds include 3 species of egret, Plettet Rørvagtel, Lille Rørvagtel, Engsnarre, Nathejre, Purpurhejre and Tophejre, Sort Stork and Hvid Stork. In the surrounding desert there may be Vagtel, Triel, Gåsegrib, Steppehøg, Høgeørn, Sinai-karmindompap, Desert Owl and Tristram's Starling. There is a raised walkway, hides and a cycle track.

Access
By road the site is 70 miles east of Amman, where day tours, car hire and taxi hire are available. Advice is to carry plenty of water and avoid midday heat. The cycle route is 12 km and the raised walkway 3/4 of a km.
