Description
Nature Reserve Torrile Trecasali is of ecological importance and registered as protected areas of the Ministry of Environment and internationally recognized as an IBA (Important Bird Area). The reserve is has 1,000 metres of nature trails that lead to the 7-observation posts that are recently renovated and a photographic exhibition in the woods. The heart of the reserve is a roost of international interest which each year hosts about 500 nesting pairs of herons and a few pairs of the rare Skestork.
During the spring period Tophejre is very frequently observed on the leaves of nannufero in bloom, the Knight of the Italian symbol of the reserve. Fjordterne can be seen circling above the artificial islands built to encourage nesting. Also good chance to see Vibe, Hvidklire, Rødben, Brushane, Dobbeltbekkasin and Storspove.
In addition, during periods of migration it is usual to spot rare species such as the Sort Stork, Fiskeørn, Stor Skrigeørn, Vandrefalk, Sort Ibis. During the winter season the reserve is inhabited by different wintering waterfowl such as the Gråand, Spidsand, Skeand, Pibeand, Krikand, Atlingand, Taffeland and Knarand.

Access
Within the Reserve there is a picnic area with picnic tables where you can relax during your visit without disturbing the fauna of the wetland. The Reserve has a large camping area where it is possible to book for tourists visiting with campers. The trails and facilities are fully accessible to disabled people. In the Visitor Center there is also an electric scooter available for visitors with physical andsensory disabilities. Reserve Opening: Days Thursday 9:00 - 13:00 - Saturday - Sunday. Opening hours: 9:00 to 17:00.
How to get there: Take exit 7 on the ring road to the north of Parma str. Baganzola towards Torrile , arrive in Torrile and follow the brown road signs towards the Reserve. The entrance to the car park is on the left.
