Former gravel pit in the outskirts of Padova with a lake, trees and some small reedbeds.
Part of the area belongs to a public park, while the rest is private (and not well kept). Still, it is possible to walk all around the lake (around 45 minutes + birding stops). There is a roost of Kohejre, a feral small population of Canadagås and recently some Dværgskarv. In the last years, wintering birds have included Siskin, Rørspurv, Jernspurv and Pungmejse. Other nice birds are Dværghejre, Isfugl and Pirol. During spring migration several passerine birds stop for a few days, including Gærdesanger, Grå Fluesnapper and Broget fluesnapper. Rarities are possible (Collared flycatcher in 2018).
On sunny weekends a lot of people visit the area, so expect disturbance.
Free parking at the entrance of the park. Easy to access (public area). Walking paths are also accessible but not so well kept in the private area.
