Description

Keoladeo National Park (also known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary) is a famous avifauna sanctuary in Bharatpur, that hosts thousands of birds, especially during the winter season. Over 350 species of birds are known to be resident. A large number of different bird species can be easily observed. The water areas and copses can be easily seen from the paths. A breeding ground for the Painted Stork, Little Cormorant, Eastern Spot-billed Duck, Black-necked Stork, Jungle Babbler and winter quarters for a large number of Nordic water birds. Keolodea National Park cannot be visited during the rainy season.

Access

The main entrance of Keoladeo National Park is on the outskirts of Bharatpur. You can park about 200 metres from the entrance. The parking fees for foreigners are significantly more expensive than for locals. The park can be visited on foot, by bike or rickshaw.
