Description

Every year around 3500 Ederfugl duck nests are found on the island of Vigur. The island is home to one of Iceland's largest Lunde colonies as well as a colony of around 1000 Tejst. It is also home to a large number of about 880 breeding pairs of Havterne and other arctic seabirds.

Access

You can make a boat trip from Ísafjörður harbour. A 3-hour tour by West Tours is about 95 Euro and starts at the Sjóferðir cabin right on the Ísafjörður harbour front on Ásgeirsgata close to the centre of town. For tickets, schedule and reservations see the link below. You can often also buy tickets on the day by popping into the West Tours office right in the centre of town at Aðalstræti 7, next to Edinborg Bistro.
