In order to reach the bird rocks of Cape Rauðinúpur, one has to leave the road 870. After a 2 km walk one reaches the rock.
The hike up to Cape Rauðinúpur takes about 30-45 minutes. Different species of Lomvie nest on the cliffs of Rauðinúpur and you can also see Mallemuk and Ride here. On the rock is a large colony with over 250 breeding pairs of Sule.
The cape is located on one of the northernmost points of Iceland. The bird rock of Cape Rauðinúpur can only be reached on foot after a 2 km hike (one way). Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking lot.
