The road between Mavria and Platania is a great road to stop and drive along, and to observe many local breeding species, like Olivensanger, Østlig Mestersanger and Hvidskægget Sanger. The small houses and farms a worth a check for Kirkeugle, and the scattered trees are perfect for Hedelærke. The scrubs and bushes are great for many species of shrike, like Rødhovedet Tornskade and Masketornskade. The rocky outcrops are great for Klippespætmejse and Rustværling.
During migration, the area is worth to check for species like Ellekrage, Biæder and Pirol. Raptors are always present, and tend to hang around the hill tops, like Ørnevåge.
