Description
The Wurzacher Ried is the largest intact and contiguous raised bog in Central Europe and also one of the largest nature reserves in Baden-Württemberg. The area is home to special species that depend on bogland and also provides habitat for specific migratory birds. Breeding birds include Hvepsevåge, Plettet Rørvagtel, Trane, Engsnarre and Gråspætte. Other birds that can be observed are Lærkefalk, Stor Tornskade, Rødrygget Tornskade, Vestlig Sortstrubet Bynkefugl, Vandrikse, Lille Lappedykker, Hvid Stork, Storspove, Drosselrørsanger and Rød Glente.

Access
The Wurzacher Ried is located directly north of the town of Bad Wurzach. There are parking spaces all around the reserve. The best place to park is near Bad Wurzach. Press a P on the map for directions. From the parking you can explore the aera on foot or by bike.
