Description
Landscape conservation area LSG Schwetzinger Wiesen consists of a mosaic of different habitats. In addition to quarry ponds, there are hedges, willow bushes and extensively used lowland meadows. This landscape offers space for many, sometimes rare, animals and plants. You can observe many water-dependent birds such as Troldand, Grågås, Nilgås and Atlingand.
Hvid Stork and, more rarely, the Sort Stork can also be seen . Waders such as Svaleklire, Tinksmed, Dobbeltbekkasin, Vibe, Hvidklire and Lille Præstekrave often rest on the mudflats. Sometimes, especially during migration, rarities can be found here, such as Skestork, Sort Ibis, , Rødstrubet Piber, Silkehejre and Småspove.

LSG Schwetzinger Wiesen is located directly west of the village of Brühl near Schwetzingen. Parking is available in Brühl. Press a P on the map for directions. The best way to get around the area is on foot. The circular route indicated on the map is about 3,5 km.
