Description
The 135 hectare Ruhlsee area was renatured in 2009. A major project led by the HGON, among others. Shallow water zones and islands were created next to a ring trench, which is supposed to contribute to the water quality. These serve primarily as feeding and nesting habitats for waterfowl and ground-breeders both during the migration period and during the breeding season.
