Description
The wine-growing area around the Tannenberg near Hüttenheim is ideal, especially during the breeding season, for observing some breeding birds that have become rare, even in Franconia. Due to the still partly small-scale cultural landscape with sun-exposed slopes, numerous hedges and extensive forests in the vicinity of the foothills of the Steigerwald, species such as Hortulan, Pirol and Turteldue can still be found here. But species like Gulspurv and Sanglærke are also more common here. Furthermore, when the weather conditions are right, birds of prey such as Musvåge, Rød Glente, Tårnfalk and Hedehøg can also be discovered here.
