Description

In Hooksiel in winter there are numerous ducks on the lake. There are many songbirds in the bushes. The sea buckthorn bushes in particular can be full of thrushes in late autumn. Strandskade can be seen on the beach. Seagulls, terns and Stenvender rest on the piers in the harbour. In summer, the area is not very attractive: boats sail on the lake, the beach is full of people, so hardly any bird finds a quiet spot. So best to visit outside the summer season.
