In Forêt des Battées you can observe birds of prey such as Duehøg and Dværgørn and woodpeckers such as Mellemflagspætte and Sortspætte. Also Ravn, Huldue and Skovsanger breed in the forest. Skovsneppe can be found on passage or in winter.

Access
To get to Forêt des Battées, in the village of La Forge, take the small road to Val Saint-Benoît. Park just after the bridge over the TGV line. Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 4 km.
