Etangs de Sanguinet et Biscarosse are two lakes that attract numerous wintering species (October-March). They are part of the coastal lake chain - stretching from Hourtin lake to the mouth of Adour - that are really worth a visit in autumn and winter. Among the birds you can encounter are Nordisk Lappedykker, Sorthalset Lappedykker, Sortstrubet Lom, Rødstrubet Lom, Islom, Toppet Skallesluger, Bjergand, Fløjlsand, Kaspisk Måge and Rørdrum.
