Lake with swampy reed vegetation that attracts abundant birdlife. You can observe the area from an observation tower.
Sminge Sø or Lake Sminge. With its marshes and swampy reed vegetation, the lake attracts abundant birdlife, both as a breeding ground and a resting place for Nordic waterfowl. It shelters large flocks of Sangsvane and Grågås in the winter. It is one of the few places in the Søhøjlandet with Nattergal(in the thickets along the river a little south of the lake). Other birds you can expect are Toppet Lappedykker, Gråstrubet Lappedykker, Taffeland, Troldand, Rørspurv and Rørhøg.
Parking place close to the observation tower (200 m). A walking trail runs along the west side of the lake and along the river Gudenåen.
