Description
Frøslev Forest is close to the Danish-German border and contains a landscape with dense coniferous forest, heathland and shifting sand. Frøslev Plantage is a good place to spot lots of smaller songbirds but also birds of prey like Duehøg, Spurvehøg, Musvåge and Tårnfalk. Also Sortspætte, Natravn, Vendehals, Natugle and Ravn. A characteristic bird is Vestlig Sortstrubet Bynkefugl, which has some of its most important Danish breeding grounds here. Frøslev is often visited by birdwatchers because many small birds have their northern distribution boundary here. The place is also known for several pairs of breeding Trane.
