Description
Chropyňský pond and surroundings are part the Upper Moravian Valley and a protected area. It houses a big colony of Hættemåge. In the past sometimes even up to 5000 pairs (one of the most numerous colonies in Central Europe). There is irregular nestling of Sorthalset Lappedykker and many common and less common wetland birds can be seen here. Like Drosselrørsanger, Sivsanger, Atlingand, Blishøne, Rørhøne, Toppet Lappedykker, Lille Lappedykker, Dværghejre, Rørspurv and Mudderklire. The pond is also visited by Fiskeørn, Rørhøg, Fiskehejre, Vibe and Isfugl.

Access
On the northern side of the pond is a parking place (see the P on the map). From there you can make a circular walk (2 km) around the pond. You will pass the observation tower on the northwestern edge of the pond. The tower is 7 m high, the covered viewing platform is located at a height of 3 m.
