Description
The landscape around Ivaylovgrad Reservoir has a mosaic of habitats consisting of bushes, trees and grassy vegetation on the bank of this large fresh-water body with shallow water along the banks. An interesting combination of dry habitats and a wetland. In spring and summer the site can produce good views of Høgesanger and Østlig Mestersanger. During the migration periods (March-May and July-October) Atlingand, Stylteløber, Klyde, Svaleklire and other birds can be observed. In winter time Knopsvane, Gravand, Stor Skallesluger and other waterfowl is possible.
Other birds that can been observed include Tophejre, Gåsegrib, Sort Glente, Havørn, Kirkeugle, Hærfugl, Biæder, Lille Flagspætte, Pirol, Rødrygget Tornskade, Rødhovedet Tornskade, Hedelærke, Olivensanger, Rødrygget Svale, Sydlig Nattergal, Black-headed wagtail, Hætteværling and Bomlærke.

Ivaylovgrad Reservoir is located near the village of Borislavtsi. The area is easy accessable, it is possible to stop near the road (road is far from busy), near a water spring. Press P on the map for directions. Very scarce public transport (once-twice a day). Easy to walk and explore quite a large area around. It is safe to leave the car near the road. In general you can see most of the birds in the area in one to one and a half hours.

The site is close (less than a kilometer) from the village of Borislavtsi, where it is possible to find food and to rest in a village cafe.
