Description

Goritsa Forest is a place with easy access and is a nice woodland on a almost flat terrain, where Balkan-fluesnapper breeds. Presence of standing and fallen dead wood provides excellent conditions for Mellemflagspætte, Lille Flagspætte, Stor Flagspætte, Gråspætte, Grønspætte and Sortspætte, but also Skovsanger, Rødstjert and Skovpiber. The site is situated on the migratory flyway of storks, pelicans and birds of prey which can be observed from some of the open areas around.
