Description
The Handzame Broeken area consists of a extensive agricultural area, being mainly pastures, with scattered trees, bushes and willow tree lanes. The Kreekebeek river flows through the area and is a great spot for waterfowl, like Krikand, Pibeand and Skeand. The surrounding pastures are good for flocks of Vibe. In winter, these pastures are part of the hunting grounds for Blå Kærhøg. In winter, area is also good for Sangsvane.
The scattered (willow) trees are great for observing Kirkeugle and Huldue. The scattered bushes and fences are a great spot for breeding species, like Vestlig Sortstrubet Bynkefugl and Bynkefugl.
