Description
Even the industrial/urban area in the north of this region harbours quite some good species in winter, like Pibeand, Knarand, Troldand and Taffeland. They can be common near te sewage works, as do gulls Lille Lappedykker and Grågås.
In recent years Rørdrum has become almost annual (often more then one) and some years Skægmejse turns up. There's a big breeding population of Rørsanger (>20 pairs) as do Cettisanger and Rørspurv in small numbers. In some years even Blåhals breeds here.
The meadow areas further to the south, especially those along the railway hold most of the time waders in late winter and spring. Stor Kobbersneppe, Tinksmed, Svaleklire, Brushane, Lille Præstekrave (breeds some years), Almindelig Ryle, Dobbeltbekkasin, Enkeltbekkasin and others are seen annual. In winter this area often holds Bjergpiber. In wet years species as Atlingand and Skeand can be breeding here. Irregular breeders are Rørspurv, Cettisanger and Vestlig Sortstrubet Bynkefugl.
The area more to the south can hold Isfugl, Bjergvipstjert, Vestlig Sortstrubet Bynkefugl and the same species mentioned earlier, but chances on these are more remote.
