Short natural stream on the outskirts of Vienna with a nice biodiversity. Easy to walk along paths on both banks.
The Liesingbach is a 30 kilometre long river, a tributary of the Schwechat, which rises in the Vienna Woods, then flows through the city of Vienna and joins the Schwechat in Lower Austria near the city of Schwechat. This part of the river on the outskirts of Vienna has natural banks and a nice biodiversity. Among the birds you can observe are Mandarin-and, Isfugl, Fiskehejre, Bjergvipstjert, Korttået Træløber, Halemejse, Stor Flagspætte, Gråand and Tyrkerdue.
Can be reached by bus line 60A. Large parking lot at the nearby supermarket. Click on the P in the map to get directions. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 1 km.
