Description
Only 15 km from Innsbruck, the Inzinger Gaisau is one of the last floodplains in the Inn Valley. It has ponds, woodlands, agricultural fields, wet meadows, reedbeds and borders the shores of the river Inn. This makes Inzinger Gaisau rich in habitats and therefore rich in birds.
Birds you can see here are Sjagger, Løvsanger, Stor Skallesluger, Isfugl, Svaleklire, Gulbug Munk, Lille Flagspætte and both Træløber and Korttået Træløber and many species of tits. In winter sometimes you can encounter large flocks of Stillits, Grønsisken, and in late winter Kvækerfinke.
On the northern waters edge you have a good view on meadows and reedbeds. You can find Bynkefugl here and with some luck Sort Glente. On the pond you can see Lille Lappedykker and different kinds of ducks. Around the reedbeds check for Vandrikse, Rørspurv, Rørsanger, Drosselrørsanger and Sivsanger.
