Country park with various habitats and a small wetland with a hide.
Originally the site of a huge coal mine Severn Valley Country Park is now a 126-acre (51 ha) park consisting of woodland, meadows and riverside banks with views over the River Severn. The varied habitats of woodland, river, small wetland and grassland attract many birds. Among the birds you can observe are vodouš kropenatý, drozd cvrčala, drozd kvíčala, morčák velký, ledňáček říční, luňák červený, poštolka obecná, hýl obecný and žluna zelená.
Severn Valley Country Park is located near Alveley, Shropshire, 8 miles (13 km) from Bridgnorth, 7 miles from Kidderminster, roughly central in the Severn Valley. Reasonable road access, plenty of parking. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking. You can explore the site on foot along paths and boardwalks.
By bus: The Bridgnorth to Kidderminster 297 bus service passes through Alveley village which is easy walking distance to the park (approx. 10 mins). The Stourbridge to Bridgnorth 125 bus service passes through Highley village which is easy walking distance to the park (approx. 15 mins).
