Description

Secret Lake in Manchester is a former Victorian reservoir that has been gradually reclaimed by nature. This small rewilded reservoir on the Levenshulme–Reddish border is a peaceful little spot with a quiet woodland feel. Regular sightings of urban‑edge birds like labuť velká, polák chocholačka, Slípka zelenonohá, mlynařík dlouhoocasý, pěnice černohlavá, potápka roháč, hýl obecný, stehlík obecný, budníček větší, zvonek zelený and strnad rákosní.

Secret Lake is sits between Levenshulme and Reddish and can be reached via the Fallowfield Loop, a long, green, traffic‑free walking and cycling route that runs across south Manchester. The circular walking route around Secret Lake is less than 1 km.
