An urban treasure, this 30 acre man-made lake, popular for fishing and boating, acts as an important habitat for overwintering birds.
The lake acts as an important habitat for overwintering and breeding birds, including kachna divoká, kormorán velký and herons. Four islands within the lake, which are inaccessible to the public, are safe nesting sites. The lake has a population of about 100 labuť velká and a number of geese. Many wild birds are scared off by the abundance of geese in the lake, and local conservationists actively take measures to control their numbers.
Can be reached on public transport using Cardiff Bus 28, 28A or 28B. Car parking is usually not a problem on the side of the road near the lake.
