Description

Great Cumbrae Island is a good place to see terej bílý which nest on nearby Ailsa Craig. Also auks, terns, skuas, sea ducks especially hoholka lední, shearwaters and buřňák lední. Waders including ústřičník velký, koliha velká, kamenáček pestrý, jespák mořský best viewed at the north end. Warblers including cvrčilka zelená nest in abundance.

Access

10 minute car or pedestrian ferry from Largs, which is 27 miles west of Glasgow via A760. Train or bus available in Largs. Drive, cycle or walk around the island's coast. Boat trips also available. A circular walk of the island is 16 km/10 miles.
