Chavenage Lane near Tetbury has stubble fields in autumn/winter attracting flocks of holub hřivnáč, holub doupňák, corvids, strnad obecný, drozd kvíčala, drozd cvrčala, skřivan polní, kulík zlatý, čejka chocholatá, konopka obecná linduška luční and pěnkava jikavec. Small numbers of bramborníček černohlavý, bramborníček hnědý, strnad luční, bělořit šedý, koroptev polní, křepelka polní and sluka lesní. Raptors including sokol stěhovavý, ostříž lesní, dřemlík tundrový, krahujec obecný, luňák červený, poštolka obecná, moták pilich and sýček obecný. Woodland birds in the coverts.

Access

Tetbury is 15 miles from M5 junction 13, via Stroud. 14 miles north of M4 junction 17, via Malmesbury. Park at Beverston church. Regular buses through Tetbury. Nearest train station, Stroud. Highgrove gardens and shop are open to the public. Chavenage House is a popular film location (Poldark, Cider with Rosie), open to public occasionally by arrangement. Beverston castle is private.
