Description

Balgavies Loch Nature Reserve is a lowland loch among farmland. Reed fringed with marshy areas and woodland walks. The area is of year round interest with gulls, waders, wildfowl, and well publicised breeding orlovec říční. Also good for hýl obecný, čečetka zimní, čížek lesní, etc. And possible to spot otter and deer.

Access

Balgavies Loch Nature Reserve is situated to the east of Forfar, not readily accessible by public transport. Walk not wheelchair friendly but hide is close to car park. Press P on the map for directions. The circular walk around the lake is about 2.5 km.
