Meles Delta is a small wetland located in the city center of Izmir. The Meles Delta takes its name from the Meles stream which pours into the innermost part of the Gulf of Izmir. The area is a semi-saline wetland formed in the area where rivers merge into the sea. Among the birds you can encounter are racek chechtavý, ledňáček říční, čejka trnitá, čírka obecná, plameňák růžový, potápka roháč, potápka černokrká, pisík obecný, kormorán velký and volavka stříbřitá.
