Lovely low-moor swamp located between two rivers. There is a lot of reed along the rivers, combined with some open grassland and forest.

Description

Maschwander Allmend is worth a visit because it combines different habitats and is well protected. You have a large river, a small river and some tight channels running between them. A section with plenty of reed, as well as a little forest at the north of the area. Among the birds you can encounter in the area are moták pilich, moták pochop, sokol stěhovavý, ťuhýk šedý, ledňáček říční, Žluva hajní, strakapoud malý and bramborníček černohlavý.

Access

There are parking lots (free) on both sides of the area. By public transport you can get on a bus to Maschwanden, aprox. 700m walking distance to the east of the area. Some of the paths are also accessible by bike. Note that dogs are prohibited in the northern part of the area.
