Description

The Auried consists of a mosaic of habitats in the former floodplain of the Sarine/Saane River and this attracts a variety of wetland and farmland birds. It is especially important as a breeding place for bukáček malý, čejka chocholatá and rákosník velký in Central Switzerland. Several luňák červený and luňák hnědý (summer only) always patrol the area. Although interesting throughout the year, it is especially rewarding during migration, when a variety of waders, passerines and the occasional orlovec říční stop over.
