Description
Sjötorpasjön is a good place to see wetland birds during much of the year. The surroundings (deciduous forests and farmland) are also interesting. Among the breeders are potápka roháč, labuť velká, moták pochop and in some years bukač velký,potápka rudokrká and sýkořice vousatá. Other breeders in the neighbourhood are luňák červený , strakapoud malý, mlynařík dlouhoocasý and sedmihlásek hajní. During migration periods large flocks of husa velká , berneška velká , kachna divoká and čírka obecná stay at the lake, often including the odd duck or goose species.
From the birding tower you may see several raptors, especially káně lesní, káně rousná, luňák červený, luňák hnědý, orlovec říční and orel mořský.
