Plans de Sió is a large steppe-type area, dominated by single-crop cereal farming, located in the Segarra region. It is a dry landscape with some shrubs or scrub. Steppe bird species, such as moták lužní, drop malý and Dytík úhorní breed in the area, but can be hard to find. The more common birds include orebice rudá, sup bělohlavý, orlík krátkoprstý, orel nejmenší, luňák červený, dudek chocholatý, ťuhýk pustinný, kalandra zpěvná, poštolka obecná and strnad luční. Sometimes orel iberský is observed.
