Isla de Los Monos - Badajoz

In the middle of the city of Badajoz. But you don't notice it when you're birding. Very beautiful area with lots of greenery.

Description

Isla de Los Monos is located in the heart of Badajoz. It is an island with many lakes and marshes in the Guadiana river. It is full of life. It is full of birds. You can see more than 6 heron species (bukáček malý, kvakoš noční, volavka červená, volavka vlasatá, volavka stříbřitá, volavka popelavá and volavka rusohlavá) and other nice birds like ibis hnědý, kolpík bílý, pisila čáponohá, slípka modrá and moudivláček lužní.

You can park in Badajoz, on the map where the walk starts. A circular walk around the island Isla de Los Monos is about 4 km long, but you can extend your walk for kilometers along the river (see the map).
