Description
The Romeiras area is a regular site for the presence of iconic large birds of prey, such as orel iberský, orel skalní, and orel jestřábí, as well as sup bělohlavý and sup hnědý. It is also common to observe some species typically associated with steppe areas, like drop malý, stepokur písečný, poštolka jižní, mandelík hajní, and also bělořit okrový and chocholouš vavřínový. With a constant water presence, it regularly attracts various species of waterfowl, as well as species like ouhorlík stepní and rybák černozobý during the breeding season.

Access
The Romeiras site is located near the villages of Alvares, Penilhos and Romeiras. You can reach the area either via the municipal road CM1145, which leads to Alvares, or the municipal road EM509, which provides access to Penilhos and Romeiras. The circular route indicated on the map is about 15 km.
