Description
Manta Rota is a nice area to walk around on the boardwalks through the low dunes or on the beach, where sometimes racek Audouinův rests and rybák velkozobý can fly over. In the low vegetation in the dunes there are pěnice bělohrdlá and Iberian žluna zelená. In the hinterland very many straka iberská and on bare fields sometimes large groups of Dytík úhorní. In the early morning and evening hours sleeping migration of volavka rusohlavá and ibis hnědý and both in the lagoon and at the river various wading bird species on migration.

Access
The village of Manta Rota is located in the east of the Algarve, near the border with Spain. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot. The area can be explored on foot from Manta Rota or Altura via the boardwalks. The route shown on the map is about 5 km (one way).
