Description
Albufeira do Azibo is the most important wetland in the northeast of Portugal. A nesting site for potápka roháč, a symbol of the protected landscape, and kulík mořský. Wintering site for different species, such as kachna divoká, kopřivka obecná, hvízdák eurasijský, kormorán velký, volavka popelavá, pisík obecný, and many other species. A stopover site for various herons and shorebirds during spring and autumn migration. In the forest surroundings of the reservoir, there are several birds of prey, such as the káně lesní, orel nejmenší, luňák hnědý or včelojed lesní as well as several passerines such as budníček iberský, brhlík lesní or králíček ohnivý.

Access
Albufeira do Azibo is located in the northeastern corner of Portugal, near the town of Macedo de Cavaleiros. In the Azibo reservoir there are several river beaches with access from the A4, with parking (access to some beaches is paid). Press a P on the map for directions to a parking. From the beaches or from the village of Santa Combinha there are trails with access to different locations and bird observatories. The circular route around the entire reservoir has a total length of 25 km.

A partir das praias ou de Stª Combinha existem percursos com acesso aos diferentes locais e a observatórios de aves. O percurso circular a toda a albufeira tem uma extensao total de 25 km.
