These two water reservoirs were created due to sand extraction and are located in the gravel pit on the Bóbr River
Both post-exploitation lakes are good places for observing waterfowl, although the most southern lake (Lake Rakowickie I) is the main habitat for birds from the direction of Brunów. If the time for observations is limited, you can refrain from visiting the northern lake (Lake Rakowickie II), because the number of birds and the diversity of species there are much lower. It is also worth visiting the Bóbr River above the dam - you can make interesting observations there.
Observations over Lake Rakowickie I are best made from two places marked on the map in Brunowo and Rakowice Wielkie. The neighboring Lake Rakowickie II is best explored from Żerkowice. Look at the map for details. For directions to a parking spot, click on a P in the map.
