Gierałtowice is a good place during migration, especially for ducks, birds of prey and waders. At least 150 species of birds have been observed here. Rarer birds observed here include linduška rudokrká, slučka malá, kvakoš noční, sokol stěhovavý and vodouš štíhlý.
Gierałtowice is located 20 km west of Katowice. You can leave your car next to the retention reservoir or on one of the streets in the neighborhood. Press on a P on the map for directions. In the field it is best to travel on foot. The circular route indicated on the map is about 8,5 km.
