Description
In summer, Frognerparken is a good spot for the resident, urban species, like konipas bílý , pěnkava obecná , stehlík obecný and kos černý. In addition, the ponds will hold various ducks and maybe also Slípka zelenonohá, pisík obecný and konipas horský. labuť velká breeds here.
In winter, the ponds usually have open water, which is good for wintering ducks. kachna divoká are of course abundant, while hohol severní and polák chocholačka are usual guests. čírka obecná and hvízdák eurasijský also regularly winter here. Always check for rarer species, especially in late fall and early spring. volavka popelavá is also a common sight. Gulls also frequent the park during the winter months, due to people feeding the ducks. Wintering racek chechtavý and racek bouřní can be found, as well as rarer species. Both racek šedý and racek polární have been reported from the park, and one racek delawarský was found here in the spring of 2001.
Follow Frognerelva south west to Skøyen and look for skorec vodní during winter.

Access
Frognerparken is easily accessible by bus, tram and subway. Majorstuen is the closest hub, a mere five minute walk away. If you exit to the south west towards Skøyen, you will find both train, tram and bus to take you back to Oslo. Driving is not recommended, as parking may be difficult and expensive.
