Description
The Zegerplas is a former sand extraction lake on the east side of Alphen aan den Rijn. You can take a walk of approximately 4.3 kilometers around the lake. Because it is a sand extraction lake, it is very deep. Nature and recreation go hand in hand on and around the lake. Often groups of water birds can be seen from relatively close by on the Zegerplas. In the summer there are relatively few birds to be seen, but outside the recreation periods you have a better chance of seeing large numbers of water birds.

Nederlands: De Zegerplas is een voormalige zandwinplas aan de oostkant van Alphen aan den Rijn. Je kunt een wandeling van circa 4,3 kilometer rondom het meer maken. Omdat het een zandwinplas is, is het erg diep. Op en rond het meer gaan natuur en recreatie hand in hand. Vaak zijn op de Zegerplas groepen watervogels van relatief dichtbij te bekijken. In de zomer zijn er relatief weinig vogels te zien, maar buiten de recreatie periodes heb je meer kans op grote aantallen watervogels.
