Description
The area consists of a large water mass, an old sand extraction area, which is still connected to the Lek river. It is surrounded with lush vegetation and several agricultural fields. Especially in winter, the water is great for many species of waterbird, like hohol severní, morčák velký and morčák malý. Rare waterbirds, like turpan hnědý and potáplice malá have been seen here too. The shores are great for ledňáček říční and potápka malá. During the breeding season, large flocks of břehule říční can been seen foraging above the basin.
The lush vegetation surrounding the water basin, consisting of small trees and bushes, are great for many species of songbird during spring. Common species are pěnice hnědokřídlá, bramborníček černohlavý and vrabec polní. During spring migration, the area is great for kos horský and bramborníček hnědý. Also, keep a look out above the river, because during migration orlovec říční tend to pass you by.

Nederlands: Het gebied bestaat uit een grote waterplas, ontstaan door zandwinning, die in directe verbinding staat met de Lek rivier. De omgeving bestaat voornamelijk uit opgaande vegetatie en enkele agrarische percelen. In de winter is de waterplas zeer geschikt voor veel soorten watervogels, zoals hohol severní, morčák velký en morčák malý. Zeldzamere soorten, zoals turpan hnědý enpotáplice malá zijn ook hier waargenomen. Aan de oevers kun je soorten als ledňáček říční enpotápka malá tegenkomen. In het broedseizoen foerageren grote groepen břehule říční boven de waterplas.
De bomen en struiken rondom de waterplas bieden een zeer geschikt broedhabitat voor veel soorten zangvogels. Algemene soorten die je hier kunt vinden zijn pěnice hnědokřídlá, bramborníček černohlavý envrabec polní. Tijdens de voorjaarstrek is het gebied goed voor soorten als kos horský en bramborníček hnědý. Vergeet niet de rivier in de gaten te houden, want orlovec říční wordt hier regelmatig gezien!

Access
The area is easy accessable by a dirt road going all along the water basin, starting from the main road. You can park your car near the main road (see map). Sometimes, several gates on the dirt road are closed. You can climb over them to continue your way.

Nederlands: het gebied is goed te bereiken via een zandpad vanuit het westen (zie kaart). Hier kun je de auto parkeren langs de hoofdweg op de dijk. Soms zijn enkele poorten op het zandpad gesloten en loopt er (jong) vee rond in het gebied.
