Description
Polder Zeevang is a former marshland area and the soil contains mostly peat and clay. Therefore, the area is very wet and the water level is often high, which results in wet pastures and damp meadows. A beautiful landscape for many species of waterbird. In summer, common species of wader that can be found on these pastures are břehouš černoocasý, vodouš rudonohý and čejka chocholatá. The small puddles attract many more waders and other species. In winter, the area attracts large numbers of geese and ducks. Massive flocks of husa běločelá, husa velká and berneška bělolící can be found. You can access the area by car, bicycle or you can just walk. The best way to observe the birds, is by car. They tend to stay put when people stay in their cars and just pull over every now and then.
