Description

The breeding wall for břehule říční has been discovered by the birds and is used yearly by a good number of pairs. The pond has often waders like kamenáček pestrý , jespák obecný and vodouš rudonohý . There can be a variety of ducks, like lžičák pestrý , kopřivka obecná and in winter hvízdák eurasijský . During migration the area will be visited by konipas bílý , konipas luční (including the rare Grey-headed Wagtail (thunbergi) and Western Yellow Wagtail (flavissima) ) and linduška luční.

Nederlands: Een kleine vijver voor steltlopers en eenden tussen twee dijken met een betonnen muur met nestgaten voor břehule říční. De broedmuur voor břehule říční is inmiddels ontdekt door de vogels en wordt jaarlijks door een flink aantal paren gebruikt. De vijver heeft vaak steltlopers zoals kamenáček pestrý, jespák obecný en vodouš rudonohý. Er kan een verscheidenheid aan eenden zijn, zoals lžičák pestrý, kopřivka obecná en in de winter hvízdák eurasijský. Tijdens de trek wordt het gebied bezocht door konipas bílý, konipas luční (inclusief de zeldzame Grey-headed Wagtail (thunbergi) en Western Yellow Wagtail (flavissima)) en linduška luční .

Je kunt eenvoudig het gehele gebiedje overzien vanaf (de weg langs) de IJsdijk. Deze is toegankelijk voor auto's, fietsen en voetgangers.

The holes in the Sand Martin wall are closed every winter by volunteers from Vogelwerkgroep Texel (www.vwgtexel.nl), so that the břehule říční can dig its own nest passages again in the spring to breed.
