Forest area of 187 hectares with conifers, deciduous trees, fens and heathlands. The nature reserve is part of the Kempen-Broek Cross-Border Park.
The Laurabossen is a large forest area with remnants of former extensive heathlands. There are many Scots pines because the forests were planted around 1900 by the Laura mines. They used the wood to shore up the mine tunnels. The former production forest is gradually transformed into a varied oak-birch forest. Scottish highland cattle graze the area and ensure that the heath is not overgrown with trees. The lelek lesní breeds on the heath. The forest is a good place to look for křivka obecná. Other breeding birds you can see here are žluna zelená, datel černý, skřivan lesní, bramborníček černohlavý, lejsek černohlavý, rehek zahradní, sýkora parukářka, puštík obecný and several species of birds of prey.
